Hand foam soaps are super fun to use and correct me if I am wrong but I feel like I use less soap when it's foamy ( I could be wrong as I never really tested this theory ).

But hand foam soaps sometimes can be more expensive than the regular soaps especially if you purchase the natural kinds that contain no harsh chemicals. However, the way you can curve the ball with spending so much money on foam soaps is by making your own.

Believe it or not, hand foam soaps are so easy to make and you don't need to be an expert nor do you need several tools for it. I promise that once I share this recipe, you will never go back to buying hand foam soap ever again.

So let's get started!

DIY hand foam soap

The only tool you will need to make hand foam soap is a foam soap bottle and as far as ingredients go you will need pure castile soap and essential oils. Essential oils are not really necessary but I like to add my own scent and if you are like me then you may want to add a few drops of your favorite essentials oils too.

The amount of soap you will need will depend on the size of your soap dispenser. I used a 10oz foam soap dispenser. I also used the Dr. Bronners Rose soap but you can use any castile soap you would like and added my favorite beauty essential oils which are wild orange and geranium. When it comes down to essential oils you can really play with it and create your different blends by mixing your favorite oils.

Now, if you use a different size rather than a 10 oz bottle, a good rule of thumb to keep in mind is to use 1 part soap and 5 parts water.

What you will need:

Water

20 drops of your favorite essential oil

Directions

Start by adding 1 oz of pure castile soap to your bottle, 10 drops of essential oil and fill it up with water. That's it! Your hand foam soap is ready to be used.

Was this DIY easy or what? And the great thing about it is that if you buy a big bottle of castile soap you will most likely have enough to make hand foam soaps for a whole year, even more depending on how much you use it.

This is even a great gift idea for mother's day, teacher appreciation day and many other occasions. Amazon sells packs of foam soap dispensers such as this one, that makes it very easy to turn it into gifts. Just add a cute label to it to customize it and you will always have a cute and functional gift at hand to give it to your girlfriends or family members.

I also got my cranberry hibiscus at Echo in Ft. Myers over 13 years ago and I love that they still pop up in my yard. I've been trying to find the exact macros this plant provides to your diet but all I ever come up with is info on either the tea or the flowers. I use the leaves in my salads daily when its growing fresh in my yard. I do prefer the smaller leaves for salad. Any additional info you may have is appreciated!
