Halloween is right around the corner, and if you're like me, you're probably scrambling to figure out a costume without spending a fortune or hitting up overpriced costume shops. But don’t worry, I’ve got you covered! Whether you're heading to a spooky party or just want to look festive while handing out candy, here are some easy DIY Halloween costumes that you can pull together with things you probably already have in your closet. Plus, they’re all budget-friendly!

You can also search throughout my Amazon DIY Halloween costume idea list so you can create your own.

Who doesn’t love a classic cowgirl look? It’s simple, iconic, and super easy to recreate. Here’s what you’ll need:

For makeup, keep it natural with a hint of bronzer for that sun-kissed, rodeo-ready look. Add a bandana around your neck for extra flair, and voila—you’re ready to two-step into any Halloween bash!

This is a classic costume with a bit of mystery and charm, and you can easily DIY it with a few items:

For an extra touch, go for soft, innocent makeup with red lips. You’ll look like you just stepped out of the woods—but keep an eye out for wolves!

3 - Renaissance girl

Channel your inner medieval queen with this easy-to-recreate Renaissance costume:

Finish the look with soft waves in your hair, and add some natural, dewy makeup to feel like a Renaissance goddess.

Who says witches have to be wicked? Let’s go for bad—and by bad, I mean fierce and fabulous!

For makeup, think bold! Dark lipstick, winged eyeliner, and a smoky eye will give you that "don’t mess with me" vibe.

5 - Barbie

Barbiecore is having a moment, and it’s time to embrace your inner Barbie girl with a glamorous and easy-to-pull-together outfit:

Top it off with bright pink lipstick and a flirty attitude to nail the ultimate Barbie look!

The Addams family never goes out of style, and Wednesday’s look is iconic for its simplicity:

The trick to Wednesday’s look is minimal makeup—just keep your face pale and your lips dark. Channel your inner deadpan humor for the full effect!

7 - School Girl

The schoolgirl costume is a Halloween staple and super easy to pull off:

Style your hair in pigtails or in a ponytail. Soft blush and gloss will give you that youthful, classic schoolgirl vibe.

Morticia is Wednesday’s fabulous and spooky mother, and her gothic glam look is as iconic as ever:

For the ultimate Morticia aura, glide through the room with slow, deliberate movements. You’ll be the picture of gothic elegance!

Halloween doesn’t have to break the bank, and these DIY costumes are proof! With just a few items from your closet (and maybe a quick trip to the craft store), you can create a look that’s festive, fun, and fabulous without spending a fortune. Plus, the best part of making your own costume is adding personal touches that make it truly yours. So grab those last-minute items, get creative, and enjoy the spooky season! 🎃

I also got my cranberry hibiscus at Echo in Ft. Myers over 13 years ago and I love that they still pop up in my yard. I've been trying to find the exact macros this plant provides to your diet but all I ever come up with is info on either the tea or the flowers. I use the leaves in my salads daily when its growing fresh in my yard. I do prefer the smaller leaves for salad. Any additional info you may have is appreciated!
