1920s Halloween costumes for couples
Halloween is the perfect excuse to travel back in time — and this year, we we decided to match and wear a 1920s Halloween costumes for couples! Think pearls, sequins, feathers, and a little gangster flair.
I wore a stunning Great Gatsby–inspired dress, while he nailed the Peaky Blinders look. Together, we were ready to sip champagne in style and run the 1920s streets of Birmingham (or at least the Halloween party dance floor).
✨ The Great Gatsby Look
My costume was pure 1920s glamour — a black and gold flapper-style dress with intricate beadwork, sheer sleeves, and fringe detailing that moved beautifully on the dance floor. I paired it with a sparkly gold clutch, black heels, and classic pearls for that elegant Daisy Buchanan touch.

To finish the look, I added a vintage-inspired headband with mesh detailing and bold 1920s makeup — deep red lips, smokey eyes, and a pop of shimmer that perfectly tied it all together.
If you’re recreating this look, the secret is in the accessories. Think pearls, sequins, headpieces, and drama — the essentials of every flapper’s wardrobe.

🕴️ The Peaky Blinders Look
He went for a Thomas Shelby–inspired vibe — sharp, timeless, and just a little dangerous. His outfit featured a newsboy cap, white shirt and tie, black coat, and leather gloves, giving off that confident 1920s gangster energy.
Together, our outfits complemented each other perfectly — a mix of Gatsby’s glitz and Peaky Blinders grit. It’s a classic couples’ costume idea that’s instantly recognizable and seriously photogenic.

I also got my cranberry hibiscus at Echo in Ft. Myers over 13 years ago and I love that they still pop up in my yard. I've been trying to find the exact macros this plant provides to your diet but all I ever come up with is info on either the tea or the flowers. I use the leaves in my salads daily when its growing fresh in my yard. I do prefer the smaller leaves for salad. Any additional info you may have is appreciated!
